Mark's Birthday!

Mark's birthday was last Thursday.  He took the day off and spent it at home relaxing, then on Saturday we went out to my parents house for the day to celebrate.  Both of my brothers were able to come out on Saturday which was so nice.  Here are some pictures from the two occasions:
Opening gifts at home on Thursday, I think he might like this one... :-)

Flying his "trainer" airplane.  He flew this one first to get warmed up, then flew anther plane before it got too windy to fly.

At the end of the day... We both look a bit tired.  Don't know what's going on with the color outside... it looks like we're in front of a blue screen!

Mrs. Jumper

Well, we decided to break down and buy another frog to keep Mr. Jumper company...Elijah named her Mrs. Jumper.  Whether she actually is a Mrs. is up for debate...  They seem to get along well and don't fight.  Mr. Jumper actually does seem happier with a companion.  :-)  If we take good care of them they could live 10 - 12 years, till Elijah is 16 - 18!  Wow!

Time at Grandma's

This past week my Mom had the kids spend a few days at her house!  They had a great time, they always do.  My mom likes to take the kids for a few days every couple of months, she loves to spend time with them.  She always plans ahead so she is free to play with them instead of having to work on things around the house.  :-)   This time she had some new games to play and some special snacks that she had picked up!  She tries to keep the kids on my schedule so when I get them back they don't have trouble readjusting to life at home, which I so appreciate.

I took the kids over on Thursday and picked them up Saturday so Mark and I got a few days "off".  It was nice to have a break, I'm always amazed at how much time I have on my hands without the kids around.  I'm also always amazed at how QUIET it is.  I don't even like to turn on the radio so I can enjoy the silence.  :-)  Mark had work to do so it was just me and Micah here both days, so it was REALLY QUIET.  Mark and I went to Wendys for dinner on Friday night ($1 menu), then walked around the mall before renting a movie at Redbox and coming home to watch it.  (We rented Date Night, NOT one I would recommend to anyone!)

New Projects...

For Christmas Mark gave me a dollhouse and I gave him a model airplane kit!  So, we have been spending our evenings together working on our individual projects.

Our First Pet!

On Saturday we went to the pet store and let Elijah pick out his very first pet, a frog!  It is a fire bellied toad and very cute!  Elijah named him "Mr. Jumper."  (Actually Elijah had made several lists of names that he liked before he got his frog and then picked one from his list after he got the frog, so cute!)  We are all enjoying "Mr. Jumper", and are thinking that we might get him a little friend so he won't be lonely.  :-)

Mark's Newest Toy

Mark was recently browsing on Craigslist and came across a lot of 4 model airplanes for $400.  He went and looked them over, then bought them!  He threw away one that was broken, fixed two of them to resell on E-Bay, and will be keeping one to add to his collection.  So, he will have made money from his new plane, can't beat that!  The plane that he is keeping is a bi-plane, an older model but very neat!  He loves it, and has already started recovering some of the wings.  :-)
