Kid Pics

Some pictures that I took of a few of the kids this week.

Micah.  He came in from playing out back with the mark on his cheek and no one seemed to know what happened. (of course!)

Jeremiah.  What a cutie!

Emmaline.  I just had to get a picture of this!  She looks so feminine with her hair up and then she has the gun in the holster on her hip! (play gun of course)  You can tell she only has brothers!

All the kids are fighting off a cold, thus the runny noses in the pictures.  Just so you don't think I never wipe my kids noses, they had all been wiped right before the pictures were taken.  :-)  And they are not normally so dirty either, that's why I took pictures is because they were dirty!

Look Mom, I'm Standing!

Micah has started standing on his own and taking steps!  He can almost walk all the way across a room without falling!  When he does fall down he just gets back up and keeps going, he's very determined.  :-)  He'll be running in no time!

Kid Pics

These are some random pictures of the kids that I took this week.  They are not the greatest pictures but...I love to take pictures of the kids to share so here they are!

We were given a cake for Micah for his birthday... 

I think it's safe to say he enjoyed it!!!

Micah's 1rst Birthday

Micah turned 1 this past week!  I can hardly believe he is already a year old!  To celebrate his birthday we had a small party for him.  We invited just family and kept it as simple as possible.  I just frosted cupcakes instead of a fancy cake.  We didn't do any games or activities since Micah is too young to participate and it was, after all, his party.  :-)

 Micah really enjoyed his cake, he knew just what to do with it and didn't need any prompting!

I had all the kids sit on the kitchen floor to eat their cake and ice cream.   It worked so well, it kept the mess contained and the kids occupied for quite a bit of time.

Micah opened his presents last, there were only 4, and it was very manageable for him and not overwhelming at all.  We like to let the kids play with their toys a bit as they open them so when there are a lot of gifts it can take a while to open all of them and sometimes our guests get a bit impatient.  So, this was great to have a smaller amount!  :-)  Micah loved all his gifts and has played with them a lot!  It was a good party, very relaxed and much easier for me to handle than the last several.

Moving up!

After 5 children in 7 years I was a bit tired of having a permanent highchair in our kitchen so I decided to pack it away and move Micah into a booster seat at our table.  So far, so good!  Micah loves being with everyone else!

Stairs!

Micah has mastered going up the stairs!  He is so proud of himself for being able to get all the way up by himself!  There's only one problem...he doesn't know how to go down yet!

Crawling!

Micah started crawling last week!  He is still getting the hang of the whole process, but he can get from one side of the room to the other in a relatively short amount of time!  I love to watch babies crawl, it gives them so much joy to be able to move and keep up with everyone else!  :-)  Micah also has mastered moving in our walker, he can zoom around in that very well!  He LOVES to be able to keep up with all his siblings!  Between the two things he is quite mobile for only 8 months!

Micah newest acheivement

This week Micah started rolling over! He rolls from his back to his stomach and once he gets there he can't get back so he just starts crying! He seems so young to me to be rolling over but I guess it's just because I'm not ready for him to be growing up at all. He also shows interest in table food but I am NOT going to start him on solids yet!
