Project 365–Day23

Here is the completed shelves.  The far left section is Micah’s, followed by Malachi’s, and then Emmy’s.  The very top shelf is for “save” type stuff, like baby books, first outfits, cards, et.  From there down the next two shelves are for their individual toys.  Since sorting out the toys for each individual kid I have found that the fights between the kids have been nearly completely eliminated.  Each kids then has a section for hanging clothes and a spot for their shoes and other clothes as well.  I love how this setup works, it is so perfect for our family!

Project 365–Day 22

I took the opportunity while the kids were gone to get some painting done.  Mark built these shelves in Emmy’s closet about 2 months ago and I have been slowly finishing them up.  I painted each section a different color in an effort to color code the kids.  Each color therefore is a different kids shelves.  I will show you all the completed closet filled with stuff tomorrow.  (For anyone wondering, the white shelf is the original shelf in the closet, we left it that way so that if we ever happened to move we could just take out the extra shelves.)

Project 365–Day 21

The kids got to spend a few days at Grandma and Grandpa’s.  I had lunch with everyone at Mom’s before leaving them and heading home.  The kids were so excited, they love to stay with Grandma and Grandpa!

Project 365–Day 19

We took a trip to the library, one of the kids’ all time favorite things to do!  Even though most of the kids can’t read yet they still love to look at books.  This picture is a good representation of our household after a trip to the library, every single kid sits and reads for a long time, while I enjoy all the quiet!  :-)

Playing store!  This particular store consisted mostly of games, which you can see displayed on the window seat.  Emmy was the shopkeeper and Josiah was her only customer, ha!  He kept coming back for more things!  When he got tired of playing I took over as storekeeper and Emmy became the customer.  This is one of their favorite things to play.  :-)

Project 365–Day 16

Fun out front!  I’m a bit of a paranoid parent when it comes to letting my kids play in the front yard but it worked out that I had time to sit and watch the kids so I let them ride their bikes out front.  They had a Blast, like they always do!

My mom has let us borrow on a semi permanent basis some learning games and toys.  Micah loves this “pegboard” and spends hours stacking and sorting!

We went grocery shopping and one of the stores we went to had this cool old Ford Model T our front!  The kids had such a good time looking at it!  I had to keep reminding them not to touch it!

Project 365–Day 13

Malachi was sound asleep in his basinet and he looked so cute I just had to get a picture of him!  He has just about outgrown his basinet but it makes me so sad to think of him moving into a crib in another room…

Project 365–Day 12

My one hobby that I work on consistently is my dollhouse.  It was a gift from Mark 2 years ago and I have worked as much as possible on it.  I recently installed crown molding in the living room of the dollhouse and love how it looks!  Not sure why I ended up with a space at the top but oh well.  Smile  The chimney breast is removable because all the wiring in the house goes behind it.

Project 365–Day 11

The kids love to sleep all together in the same room so we let them all sleep in Emmy and Micah’s room.  Emmy was on her bunkbed and all the boys (except Malachi!) were snuggled up in blankets on the floor.  Fun times for them!

Snack Time!  Micah and Jeremiah had a blast playing with our animal cracker snack! Some days we get around to a morning snack and this was one of those days.  The kids love it when I have time to put together a snack!

Project 365–Day 9

Organizing on a dime!  This is all my makeup and hair things, organized in one of my dresser drawers with repurposed containers of varying sorts.  SmileNot fabulous to look at but very functional and VERY cheap!

Elijah is in 3rd grade this year and will be tested at the end of the year to make sure he has learned everything he’s supposed to.  I bought a special book and he has been practicing taking tests.  Here, he’s working on an english test which is his hardest subject.

Project 365–Day 3

Malachi is the subject of my picture for today.  I LOVE those big eyes!  He was just hanging out in our bed after keeping us up most of the night.  He looks a lot more awake than either Mark or I was, ha!

Project 365–Day 2

Here is my picture for the day.  My camera takes poor night time shots, hence the off coloring, this was about 5 p.m. and all our blinds were already shut.   The kids were working together on schoolwork, and were so intent on what they were doing that they didn’t even notice I was taking a picture!

Project 365

A friend of mine has started doing something called a project 365 this year, she will be taking a picture everyday and posting it to a flicker account.  The goal behind it is to become a better photographer.  She even joined a group online of people doing the same thing.  I know myself and my schedule and making that kind of commitment would be nearly impossible.  However, I love the idea of having a picture taken everyday and at the end of the year having an album of pictures showing our daily life.  So, I am going to try and start my own album without signing up for the support group.  Then if it gets to be too much I can just drop the whole idea without feeling guilty or like I’m letting anyone down.  I will try and add one picture for each day(not necessarily added individually though, more likely all at once, once a week or so) although they may not get posted here.  I will also be posting them to my FB account.

P1022471

This is the picture I choose for my first one.  I took all kinds of pictures, from piles of laundry to kids on the computer to Mark holding Malachi but I loved this picture.  It shows Micah’s quirky temperament and silliness.  :)  I know it’s not a great picture but I loved it all the same.
For anyone interested in joining the group (who’s more motivated then I am!) you can find more information here.  Also, the pictures will be uploaded to this Flickr account https://www.facebook.com/PeasAndCarrotsStudio
