This week’s Menu!

Well, it’s another busy week here at the Gregg’s!  We finally were able to pay ourselves (oh, the joys of self-employment!), for the first time since January and I have a list as long as my arm of things we need to buy!  I will be spending a great deal of time in the car and shopping to try and get caught up. Also this week,  I have a Doctor’s appointment, the kids have Awana, Emmaline has ballet, we have company coming over one day, a birthday party one day, and an appointment with the kids Charter School to order curriculum for the fall (they’ll be going one day a week).  Life is crazy!!!

With all that in mind, it was yet another week of quick and easy meals!  I have been doing some freezer cooking, so that will make this week significantly easier!  Here’s the plan for this week:

* Potato Soup, Muffins, Green Salad

* Fried Chicken, Steamed Vegies, Applesauce

* Burritos (from the freezer!), Apple Slices, Carrot Sticks

* Manicotti (also from the freezer!), Green Salad, French Bread

* Homemade Pizza, Green Salad

* BBQ chicken, Green Salad

* Smoothies and Homemade Popcorn

Thank goodness for easy meals!

Project 365–Day 82

Several people bought me flowers for my birthday.  Here they are in all their glory!  Fresh flowers add such a nice touch to a room!

Project 365–Day 81

I spent a bit of time during the evening planning out everything that I needed to do this week.  I’m always amazed at how much there is to keep track of!  I don’t even have everything written down yet and look how much there is to do!  Makes me tired just looking at it!

We’ve had some sickness going through the house, coughs and runny noses.  Whenever Elijah gets sick he always gets these blisters above his mouth.  This time around was really bad.  Poor guy!

We celebrated my birthday today!  The older kids all bought me gifts, they love birthdays!

Project 365–Day 79

When the kids are too quiet it’s time to check on them!  Jeremiah and Micah had great fun unmaking beds and throwing toys, books, and stuffed animals all over the room!  This took awhile to clean up!

Mark built an itty bitty model airplane and I couldn’t resist setting it in the dollhouse and snapping a picture!  It looks so cute, and just perfectly to scale for a model airplane for my imaginary dollhouse family!

Kitchen Organization Project

This month I’ve been working on getting my kitchen reorganized in order to waste less steps.  I became convinced of the need to do this after reading this book.  It’s been an interesting process so far!  I never realized how much time I spent running around my kitchen till I read the book.  I’m not done yet, but I thought you all might like to see some before shots.
Here’s my pantry.  It has been getting more and more messy, especially since Malachi was born.  I also have a pantry in the garage for my stock pile of good deals.  I have quite a few things that we don’t use anymore that are just taking up space and I really think I could make better use of this space.
 
Here are my upper cabinets.  (Yes, this is all of them, my kitchen is small!)  These are not that messy, but again, I think I could do better as far as making my organization make sense.  Letter supplies, cold medicine, and cake pans all in the same cabinet?  What was I thinking?!  :-)

Lower cabinets.  This is where most of the mess and disorganization is.  I really need to figure out some good place for all of this stuff!

Finally, my drawers.  There are a couple more but I forgot to get pictures of them.  But, you’re not missing much, it’s more of the same.  Stuff, stuff, and More stuff.  It’s time to do something about all of this junk!

Project 365–Day 77

Malachi, snoozing in his crib!  We’re making progress, he sleeps in here during the day but still has trouble staying in the crib at night and always ends up in the basinet in our room.  That’s okay for now, but the basinet is getting awfully small for him, he has only about an inch of extra space length wise!

My Birthday 2013

We celebrated my birthday this past week.  It was a very relaxing day full of time with family and lots of relaxing.  Originally I had wanted to do some things outside but the morning of dawned cold and snowy, so we changed plans mid stream.  It all worked out perfectly all the same!  The only pictures that were taken were of me opening gifts… ah well, maybe next year I’ll do better!
